With Lt Col Frost’s 2nd Parachute Battalion, 1 Parachute Brigade cut off on the bridge and and the halting and expulsion of the other British para units from the town, this was an important phase for the Germans during the battle. In this walking tour in Arnhem it will become clear to you how the Germans prevented British follow-on Airborne units making contact with 2Para on the bridge. In the end the failure of the British attacks, the arrival of German armoured reinforcements and persistent heavy German pressure forced the British units withdrawal to Oosterbeek.
